1. About these terms
These terms apply between you and Sydney Sub Floor Ventilation (“we”, “us”, “our”) whenever you request a quote, book an inspection or engage us to supply and install subfloor or underfloor ventilation. By accepting a quote or booking a job, you agree to these terms. If a signed quote or written agreement says something different, the signed document applies.
2. Free inspections and quotes
- Our on-site inspection and quote are free and carry no obligation.
- Quotes are fixed-price for the scope described in the quote and are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
- If we find something during installation that changes the scope — for example an access issue or a need for new wiring that couldn’t be seen at inspection — we will stop and discuss it with you before doing any additional work or charging any additional amount.
3. Bookings and access
- You agree to give us safe access to the subfloor and to any power point we need on the agreed date, and to let us know in advance about pets, locked gates or other access considerations.
- Please clear the immediate area around subfloor access points and vents before we arrive.
- If you need to reschedule, let us know as early as you can. We won’t charge a cancellation fee for changes made with at least 24 hours’ notice.
4. Our work
- All installation is carried out by our own team. Where new electrical wiring is required, it’s completed by a licensed electrician arranged by us and included in your quote.
- We install the fans, ducting, vents and controls described in your quote, test the system and show you how it runs before we leave.
- We leave the work area clean and tidy. Minor marks around access points and vents are sometimes unavoidable in older homes; we’ll point out anything of that kind before we finish.
5. Payment
- Payment is due on completion of the installation unless your quote says otherwise.
- We accept the payment methods shown on your invoice. Ownership of installed equipment passes to you once payment is received in full.
- Overdue invoices may be referred for collection, and reasonable recovery costs may be added.
6. Warranty
Every system we install is backed by a 5-year manufacturer warranty on the fans and a 5-year warranty on our installation workmanship. What’s covered, what isn’t and how to make a claim are set out on our warranty page, which forms part of these terms.
7. What we can’t promise
Subfloor ventilation controls moisture coming from the subfloor. It is not a treatment for structural rising damp in masonry walls, leaking plumbing, roof or stormwater problems, or existing termite activity. Where we think ventilation alone won’t solve your problem, we’ll tell you at the inspection. Drying times vary with the home, the season and how wet the subfloor was to begin with.
8. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any other loss is limited to re-supplying the service or refunding the amount paid for it.
